Through examining a series of work samples and a workshop on “Letter Piece 1” by Matthew Shlomowitz, this lecture unfolds the forms of communication between musicians and composers and its implication on collaboration, and explores how intention plays a vital role in establishing forms of interpretation in contemporary music performances.
